Create a dependent choice field

Restrict a field’s options based on another field.

How to do it

  1. Create the controlling Select field and the dependent Select field on the same object.
  2. In the dependency editor, choose the controller and allowed choices for each value.
  3. Save and test each controlling value in the record editor.

Check your result

Changing the controller should clear a choice that is no longer allowed.

Good to know

An empty allowed group intentionally offers no dependent options.
