Create a formula field

Calculate a read-only value on the selected object.

How to do it

Open Objects, select the object, and choose Formula fields.
The editor starts with that object selected; name the field and write a supported expression.
Preview or save it, then add the result to a record view.

The formula result is calculated rather than edited by users.

Check field names and types if the expression does not validate.
