Configure store access, stock and individual unit labels
Use shared products while separating cashier duties from store administration.
How to do it
- Cashiers need POS view and operate. Add POS catalog to edit shared Products, POS inventory to replenish channel stock and label units, POS configuration to add registers and channels, and reconciliation or refund permissions only where needed. Job titles alone grant no access.
- Use Inventory to add or edit shared products, including configured custom fields. Select the channel and enter counted available and reserved quantities. Stock changes reuse unallocated quantities before adjusting physical stock. Stale snapshots are rejected. Supplier purchase bills and costs remain in Procurement and Finance.
- Use Configuration → Add register / drawer. The persistent counter uses an active channel and reviewed Finance tax rule. Cashiers open a daily shift in Register with its opening float. Cash movements require an open shift; Shifts & sales links back to opening and configuration.
- Each physical stock unit has its own permanent barcode. Open Unit barcodes to prepare any pending identities, select labels and print them once each. A Product record and SKU group these units without creating extra Products. Label creation does not increase stock. Duplicate scans and competing sales cannot sell the same unit twice.
- Print one label per identified unit. Reprint the existing code for a damaged label. Full saleable-stock returns restore its original code. Retire missing labels before reducing counted available stock. Unit records are paginated, with up to 240 selected labels per PDF.
- Park a basket while its customer continues shopping. It retains products, partial identity details and entered codes while clearing checkout for the next customer. Restore into an empty basket; stock, prices and codes are checked again on purchase.
- Closing cash is prefilled from opening float + cash receipts + cash added − cash removed − cash refunds. Card, UPI, bank and credit-note payments appear separately. Confirm the physical count; variances and supervisor closes require reconciliation permission and a reason.

A cashier can bill and close their balanced shift without catalog, stock or Finance administration.
Good to know
Organization settings supply currency. Saved Orders, documents and drawers retain their original currency; close an old-currency drawer before opening a new one. Physical scanners, cameras and printers require testing on the store devices.
