Manage Email and WhatsApp subscriptions

Direct marketing uses Email and WhatsApp; social marketing stays in Social Studio.

How to do it

  1. Choose Add subscriber, then Email or WhatsApp. WhatsApp identities need an international phone number; an email address is optional. Both reuse permanent subscriber IDs. Saving an identity never creates marketing consent.
  2. Review email opt-in separately from WhatsApp marketing, utility and authentication permission. Collect verified consent through the shared form before promotional sends.
  3. Use Email or WhatsApp activities in Send Flows. SMS setup, new sends and new activities are unavailable. Saved SMS steps remain visible for review and must be removed or replaced before activation.
  4. Social Studio manages social-media planning, handoff and reporting independently of direct messaging.

Check your result

The subscriber channel filter and add form offer Email and WhatsApp, with no SMS setup panel. Historical delivery and opt-out records remain stored.

Good to know

Existing opt-outs continue to be enforced; record creation is independent of consent.
