Approve and schedule a WhatsApp campaign
Freeze an audience and deliver approved templates through the durable queue.
How to do it
- Create a local template draft or synchronize an existing Meta account. Configure body, header, examples and supported buttons with Meta components. Submit the draft and synchronize its approval status. A local draft is never treated as Meta-approved.
- Create a campaign with a connected number, approved template and existing Audience Builder audience. Choose the international phone field and optional billing-country field. Existing Contacts, custom objects and data tables are reused.
- Bind body parameters using audience tokens such as {{Contact.FirstName}}. Upload required header media through the same phone number and enter supported dynamic button values when required.
- Set a campaign budget, reviewed country/category message rates, BU daily/monthly budgets, quiet hours and recipient frequency limit. Recipient country must agree with the international phone number.
- Choose a start time in the BU timezone, save a draft and submit for review. An authorized approver freezes up to 100,000 matching source records; preparation proceeds in durable batches and deduplicates normalized phone numbers.
- Pause or resume approved work without duplicating accepted sends. Duplicate a campaign to change its approved content or audience. Review skipped members and delivery exceptions in the campaign and Settings views.
Check your result
A real test send uses the same consent, template, provider and budget checks as other sends. Accepted means Meta accepted the API request; Delivered and Read require provider events.
Good to know
Outside the 24-hour customer-service window, approved templates and applicable consent are required. Every category, including Service, needs a reviewed effective rate. Unknown rates and zero paid-send budgets block paid sends. Estimates conservatively apply that rate from the first message; provider free allowances and discounts are reconciled from the actual statement. An uncertain provider response is held for verification rather than automatically resent.
