WhatsApp Studio

Connect WhatsApp Business to your BU

Connect your business-owned WhatsApp account and phone numbers, with encrypted credentials and signed webhooks.

How to do it

  1. In Meta Business, create or select your business portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account. Add a phone number eligible for the Cloud API and complete the verification and payment setup Meta requires.
  2. Create a Meta business developer app with WhatsApp enabled. Assign its system user access to your WhatsApp assets and obtain a token with whatsapp_business_management and whatsapp_business_messaging permissions. Use your app secret to verify signed webhooks.
  3. In Marketing → WhatsApp Studio → Settings, choose Connect your WhatsApp account. Enter a recognizable name, your WABA ID, system-user access token and app secret. Save the connection.
  4. Copy the one-time verification token and HTTPS callback supplied by SupaChrome into your Meta app webhook settings. Subscribe to the required WhatsApp events, then select Verify & subscribe in SupaChrome.
  5. Review the returned phone numbers and connection health. Set routing, business hours, SLAs, approved templates, consent and spending controls before sending.
  6. If Quick connect with Meta is available, it offers an optional Embedded Signup flow for your own account. Your business still owns its WABA, phone numbers, billing and Meta approvals.

Check your result

Account health must be Connected, returned phone assets must match the BU connection, the scheduler must be healthy, and a real signed webhook must be observed before considering delivery reporting verified.

Good to know

The platform Meta app supports the optional Embedded Signup flow; it is not the business’s WhatsApp account. Connecting your own Meta app credentials does not require SupaChrome’s shared Embedded Signup configuration. Tokens and app secrets are encrypted, scoped to your BU and never returned to the browser.
