Resolve GSTIN and tax rule checks in SupaTill
Distinguish registration validation from the register's effective tax rule.
How to do it
- For a GSTIN error, open Finance → Settings and enter the registered business GSTIN exactly as issued. Confirm the selected supplier state matches the GSTIN prefix.
- For a rule validity error, open SupaTill → Configuration to identify the register's assigned rule. In Finance → Tax rules, check its effective date and expiry against the business date.
- Add or assign a current reviewed version if required. The matching rules must also cover the item tax rates.
- To delete an unassigned version, use Delete rule and Confirm delete. Reassign registers before deleting any rule that is still selected.
Check your result
Date bounds are inclusive. The list order is irrelevant; the register's selected rule and the item's applicable reviewed rates control checkout. GSTIN format and supplier-state checks are separate from rule dates.
Good to know
Deleting an unused rule preserves issued invoice and tax snapshots and records an audit entry. Use reviewed tax details from the business registration and applicable source documents.
